Our year Down-Under

China town

This was the view that greeted us as we came out the Chinatown MRT station yesterday. Fantastic. It was a great place. Lots of streets and lanes filled with people hawking their wares from narrow shop fronts. Quite spectacular. I particularly liked the way there was old men sitting drinking a cool bottles of Tiger beer at little tables on the pavement outside small cafe/bars seemingly without a care in the world.

The smells, sounds and colours were awesome and I'm sure we could have spent hours and hours wondering around the stalls. However, our stomachs were rumbling and I didn't think that the chicken beaks looked all that tasty so we went in search of some sushi at one of the malls back in the city centre.
